One of the most important voices in the gun violence prevention movement can be gun owners as many support responsible gun ownership .

A large percentage of gun owners support background checks. They understand they protect all of us from people who should not have firearms including convicted felons, domestic violence abusers and severely mentally ill individuals.

Be willing to have the conversation at gun shops and ranges to forge a stronger alliance with gun owners; they can be valuable allies in our work.
